Epsom salt has natural healing and restorative properties for muscles, skin and hair. The Dreampod V2 has an interior measurement of 7.4 ft x 4.76 ft and easily accommodates most body types, including pregnancies into the third trimester. Clothed or bare, sound or silent, color or pitch black, there are many options to choose from that can heighten your floating experience. Each session places you in a private pod with less than a foot of salt-rich, body-temperature controlled water.

    Dos & Don'ts

    Dos

Read Through Our FAQ's Before Your First Float Session

View our Frequently Asked Questions - if the answer to your question isn't there, just give us a call.

We require 24 hours notice to cancel/reschedule to avoid a cancellation fee.

    Arrive On Time

Allow yourself plenty of time to get here - it's much harder to relax into the tank if you've been rushing. If you are late, your float session may need to be cut short to ensure the following appointment can start on time. We recommend arriving 20 - 30 minutes early for your first session to complete your form & orientation and 5 minutes early for all subsequent appointments.

Allow Plenty Of Time For Your Float Session

We recommend allowing 1.5 hours for a 1 hour float session as we want you to take the time to relax before heading back out into the hustle and bustle.

Make Sure You Are Hydrated & Don't Skip Meals

The high salt content can make you dehydrated.

Turn Off Your Mobile Phone When You Arrive

This is your time to escape the world & the 'busyness' of life. We ask that you turn your mobile off & DO NOT TAKE CALLS WHILE YOU ARE IN THE TREATMENT ROOMS OR RECEPTION as there may be other clients having a massage, body or float who are disturbed by this. If you need to make a call, please go outside. If you need to have your phone available for emergency calls (children/work) then we suggest you leave your phone at reception and we will look after it for you.

Ensure Any Small Cuts Or Scratches Are Covered With A Clean Waterproof Dressing

This is for hygiene purposes as well as the fact the salty environment of the tank will cause any open cuts/scratches to STING!!

    Remove Contact Lenses And Jewelry

But don't forget to take them with you when you go!

    Ask Lots Of Questions

Let us know if you are nervous or unsure of anything. We will do our best to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Call Us To Check If You Should Reschedule

If you are in the early/late stages of pregnancy, receiving chemotherapy or ongoing medical treatment that we should be aware of or think you may be coming down with a cold/flu/illness.

    Don'ts

Consume Drugs Or Alcohol Prior To Your Appointment

Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol is STRICTLY prohibited. We reserve the right to refuse treatment to anyone we suspect may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Use The Tanks If You Are Menstruating

If you are menstruating, do not use the tanks without an internal method of barrier such as a tampon or cup.

Shave Or Wax Within The 12 Hours Prior To Your Session

The salty environment of the tank means that any waxed/shaved areas will STING!!!

Drink Caffeine Or Other Stimulant Drinks Before Your Session

These will make it difficult for you to relax into the tank environment. - a coffee in the morning should be OK if you're not floating until later in the day.

Have A Large Heavy Meal In The 90 Mins Before You Float

Not only might you feel unwell, but your digestive system will be making lots of noises and this can be disruptive in your float.

Float If You Have Large Open Cuts.

This is for hygiene reasons as well as your own comfort.

Float Straight After Having Hair Colored Or Chemically Straightened Or After Using Artificial Tanning Products

We ask you to wait at least 10 - 21 days after having your hair colored, the wait time depends on the color, (please ensure no color rinses from your hair when washing at home) and 10 days after using artificial tanning products.

Don't SMOKE Shortly Prior To Arriving At The Float Room

Nicotine, being a stimulant, can make it difficult to relax into the tank. It also SMELLS and the smell is carried into The Float Room with you - which is unpleasant for staff & other customers.

Take Too Long In The Shower After Your Float

Please consider that we may have another client waiting & we do need to allow sufficient time for filtering & cleaning. If you feel you need more than 10 minutes to shower & do hair/make-up after your session - please just advise us when you arrive & we can shorten your float time accordingly.

Take Calls While You Are In The Treatment Rooms Or Reception

This is your time to escape all of that, so leave it off as long as you can. It is also VERY distracting for other clients who are here to relax.

Are There Situations In Which I Will Not Be Permitted To Use The Flotation Tank?

We will not allow you to float if you:
    • Have infectious skin or respiratory disorders
    • Have open wounds or recent tattoos
    • Have incontinence
    • Have uncontrolled epilepsy or serious mental conditions
    • Are a high-risk pregnancy
    • Have colored or permed your hair within 7 days
    • Are under the influence of any drug or alcohol
    • Are currently menstruating and unable to use an internal method of a barrier such as a tampon or cup.
    • Kidney Disease (as kidneys are responsible for processing Magnesium which is present in Epson Salt)
    • Are under 18 without parental presence

We expect you to inform us of any conditions for your own safety and the safety of other floaters! We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.

    Will My Skin Get Wrinkly?

No. The high Epsom salt content of the water means that the water will not draw the salt from your skin and cause wrinkles like a long bath does. Epsom salt has been used for centuries as a medicinal treatment for various skin conditions. It is non-toxic and is not harmful if swallowed (although it does not taste good!). Epsom salt is actually quite nourishing for the skin, which is why many people feel silky smooth after their float session.

I'm Pregnant. Can Floating Harm My Baby?

Absolutely not. In fact, pregnant women probably get more relief from the float tank than anyone else. Just lying on a bed can be extremely uncomfortable for a woman in the later stages of pregnancy due to the massive gravitational strain placed on the body. The float tank is a wonderful haven for pregnant women. We do, however, recommend that pregnant women avoid floating during the first trimester. If you have any concerns about the effects of floating on your pregnancy, we ask you to consult and get permission from your physician before you float.

    Why Use A Float Pod?

The more you float, the better it gets. Each pod experience is different and unique. You will receive increased benefits with each session.

What Effects Does Floating Have On Your Mind?

Normally we are in a Beta wave state indicated by a faster brain frequency. After about 20-30 minutes of being in the pod our brains shift from the faster wave state to the slower or lower frequency Theta Wave state. Theta waves have been associated with deeper relaxation mentally and physically, meditation, spiritual awareness, reduction in stress and anxiety, higher levels of creativity, increased learning ability and improved long-term memory. As you relax deeper into Theta Waves it is possible to have lucid states even euphoric or nirvana type moments are possible. These are rare and only happen in a very small percent of the population. Try not to force these states to happen, stay calm, relax and breath. If you happen to have one, congratulations!

What Effects Does Floating Have On Your Body?

Increased blood circulation. The near weightless state of floating allows muscles and joints to relax and the increased blood flow. Results from this helps to repair muscle tissues, especially beneficial for those with chronic pain and injuries. Increased healing time. Pain management, floating has been shown to ease conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and migraines. Increased immune system with the low gravity state of floating the body has time to rest and repair and gives the immune system an opportunity to speed up and strengthen the immune response.

    Is Floating Successful For Everyone?

As with any of our services, floating is not suited for everyone. It take a willingness on the individuals part to let go, relax and see what happens. It is not uncommon to take a few floats before you are able to complexly relax, both mentally and physically. Depending on where you are in your own life's journey, a float may provide a wonderful healing experience both physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Even those who are claustrophobic are typically able to float. If medically able, we recommend everyone try a float at least once.

Who Should Not Use Try Float?

We do not recommend use of the pods for epileptics whose epilepsy is not under medical control, anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, for those with infectious diseases and open skin wounds. Those with incontinence issues, kidney disease, recently dyed hair and those under 18 without parental consent.

    Can Pregnant Women Float?

Yes. We suggest pregnant women get the opinions of their physicians or midwives before floating. Especially those who have other medical issues or high-risk pregnancies. High praise for floating has come from pregnant women as they experience great relief from the pull of gravity.

    Can I Float While Menstruating?

Yes, as long as there is a form of a barrier such as a tampon or cup.

What Effect Does Salt Water Have On My Skin And Hair?

Epsom Salt solution is very beneficial to the both. Guests leave the tank with softer feeling skin and hair.

Can I Wear A Bathing Cap?

Yes, but it will not keep your hair completely dry.

What Do I Wear In The Pod?

This is a private experience; most people wear their birthday suits. Anything you wear will touch your body and can be a distraction. You are welcome to wear a swim suit if you prefer.

Do People Fall Asleep In The Pods?

Yes, all the time. It is safe to do so. With the weightless state you are in and the density of the water, it is very difficult to roll onto your side or stomach. Even those who say they never sleep on their backs in bed often are able to in the Pod. If you happen to do so, the salt solution will get if your eyes, mouth and nose and you will very abruptly wake up.

    Will I Float?

Yes. It is impossible not to float in our Pods. 500 lbs of Epsom salt is dissolved in the water making the solution so dense that your body is pushed to the surface. Your face is out of the water while your ears will be under.

    Can I Get Electrocuted?

Simple answer. No. No worries at all.

    What If I Am Claustrophobic?

People who say they are afraid to use the Pod due to claustrophobia probably assume they will be confined in an enclosed space. You can use the Pod with the door open if you wish, and are in complete control of your situation with lights and music. You can get in and out whenever you want. In our experience, most people who are afraid of being claustrophobic find they are okay once they are in the Pods.

What Should I Do To Prepare For My Float?

First and foremost, relax. Try not to shave before visiting. Remove contact lenses and avoid caffeine and nicotine.

Is There Enough Air In The Pod?

Absolutely. The pod is not airtight. There is also fresh air brought in by the air circulation system.

What If I Get Water In My Eyes?

It will sting due to the high concentration of salt. Fear not, there is a spray bottle and a wash cloth by your tank. You can dab off the salt water or spritz the bottled water on your face and use the cloth to dry your face.

How Is The Water Cleaned Between Sessions?

We have a high-powered filtration system that runs after each session. There is more than 500 lbs of medical grade Epsom Salt dissolved in the tank. A concentration so high that no living microorganism can survive. In addition, an ultraviolet light sterilization system is used. UV is the safest, most effective system available and uses the same technology as the water purification system used for drinking water. To maintain cleanliness, a shower is mandatory before floating. If you would like to know more about the science of Salt and water chemistry, please watch Dr. Roy Vore's talk at the Float Conference from 2018. He is a microbiologist speaking about the science of Float pod Sanitation.
