Infrared Sauna
Instead of a steam or flame-stoked heat, infrared saunas use an infrared lamp and electromagnetic induction to create warmth. This process allows infrared sauna to operate at a lower temperature while still providing therapeutic benefits. Infrared typically heats to 110-135 degrees F where traditional falls between 105-195 degrees F. But what makes Salus’s IR sauna so beneficial? It’s all about the combo – IR technology, Chromotherapy, VRT
Infrared (IR) Sauna Technology
- Near infrared – Absorbed just below the surface of the skin creating a sweat that promotes healing and revitalization.
- Mid infrared – A longer wavelength that can penetrate deeper into the body’s soft tissues increasing circulation and releasing oxygen.
- Far infrared – Deep penetrating wavelengths that stimulate metabolism and provide a healthy source of natural sunlight without the damage.
Chromotherapy
Chromotherapy is a process of restoring balance to the body by applying color. Each color spectrum is associated with different bodily responses.
- Red – Increases energy, decreases signs of aging, increases collagen and elastin production, increases energy.
- Violet – Reduces stress, increases cell regeneration, reduces inflammation.
- Blue – Reduces acne causing bacteria, boosts alertness, helps memory, regulates circadian rhythms.
- Teal – Soothing, calming, healing, helps irritated and inflamed skin.
- Green – Calming, balancing, harmonic, healing.
- Yellow – Nerve health, helps digestion, reduces scar tissue, stimulates happiness and consciousness.
- Orange – Improves mood, stimulates appetite, energizes, and respiratory stimulation.
VRT – Vibrational Resonance Therapy
VRT – Vibrational Resonance Therapy is form of sound healing that utilizes sound waves to restore balance and harmony within the body
- Stress relief
- Relaxation
- Activating a meditative state
- Improve sleep
- Support muscle recovery
VRT Frequencies
- Delta waves – (.5-4hz) These low frequencies are associated with deep sleep and relaxation
- Theta waves – (4-8hz) These waves are linked to sleep, relaxation and increased creativity and intuition
- Alpha waves – 8-12 hz) These waves promote calmness and focus also reducing anxiety and stress levels.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I use a sauna?
Based on your individual health goals, we recommend using a sauna at least 1-2 times per week for better 3-4. Remember that sauna results and benefits are cumulative. A single sauna session will help make you feel better, more frequent sessions will amplify the benefits.
Is Infrared sauna safe? Does it contain EMF?
Will I be losing water weight?
Yes, IR sauna causes sweating, which is water weight. But the calories burned are real. As you relax in the gentle heat of the sauna, your body is actually hard at work pumping blood, increasing heart rate, increasing circulation and producing sweat to cool you down. This result is a caloric burn.
Will I burn calories after my session?
Yes. By increasing your heart rate and core body temperature in your session, it can take up to an hour after your session to return to normal. We encourage you to stay active before and after your session if you want to maximize the caloric burn.
Can I do a sauna session with someone else?
Yes… However, our sauna booth is more the proper size for one individual. You are welcome to bring a buddy, but note that it will be extra ‘cozy’ in the booth.
Are there IR Sauna memberships?
YES! You can be a member for 80$ per month and receive 4 sessions a month OR for $119 per month, you can become an Unlimited Wellness Member and not only have unlimited monthly use of the IR Sauna, but also our Float pods, Hydro Massage Loungers and Halo Therapy chamber!
Experience the Difference
Unlike traditional saunas that warm the air around you, infrared focuses a penetrating warmth directly on your skin to bring heat therapy. It warms you from the inside out.
Sauna Tips
Hydrate BEFORE. Most of us do not drink enough water to begin with. Additional sweating through sauna use means it is even more important to stay properly hydrated. Always drink plenty of water before, during and after a session.
Wear comfortable clothing. Lightweight, loose fitting clothing is ok. Swim suits are good. Birthday suits are best (Salus provides towels and body wraps). We recommend bringing loose fitting comfortable clothing to put back on after your session is complete. Note that you will continue to sweat for a while after your session as your body naturally cools back down.
Enjoy the benefits of VRT (Vibrational Resonance Therapy) during your session. You’ll have the choice of Alpha, Beta, Delta or Theta wave music.
Looking for another music choice? Use your own device and headphones to enjoy your own music, podcast or mediation session without the VRT. Make sure to have your own headphones if you choose this route.
